
Dr. Ray Freeman - Your Local Eye Care Expert
Dr. Ray M. Freeman is a North Carolina native who completed both his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following an internship in Internal Medicine, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University, where he later joined the faculty and taught other eye surgeons advanced cataract surgery techniques.
Leadership & Academic Experience
Dr. Freeman served as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Shreveport VA and as Director of Ophthalmology at the LSU Teaching Hospital. His years in academic medicine shaped a teaching-minded, detail-focused approach that he brings to every patient he sees at Carolina Vision Center.
