Since 2004, Dr. Woodcock has been selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, and he is a member of the Society for Excellence in Eye Care.
Dr. Woodcock studied at Meharry Medical College, where he was the salutatorian of his class in 1980. He completed his internship at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and his residency in ophthalmology at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas where he was chief resident. In addition, he has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology and as the Chief of Ophthalmology at Cape Fear Valley Medical System in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He trains his fellow ophthalmologists in the use of new vision care technologies, and he has lectured and written extensively on refractive surgery and cataract surgery.
His professional associations include the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the North and South Carolina Ophthalmology Societies and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
